History
Our History
Emmanuel Life and Worship Center has a rich history of faith, perseverance, and God’s faithfulness.
On February 9, 1997, the ministry officially became known as Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Assembly. During those early years, our journey of faith took us to several locations throughout Newnan.
Through every transition, God continued to bless the ministry and touch lives throughout the Newnan community.
In August 2001, God blessed Emmanuel to arrive at the location we now call home.
Throughout the years, our name has changed from Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Assembly, to Emmanuel Outreach Ministries, and finally to our present name, Emmanuel Life and Worship Center. Although our name has changed, the heart of our ministry has remained the same. Emmanuel means “God with us,” and His presence has been evident throughout every season of our journey.
On January 9, 2010, Pastor Billy B. Avery, through the unction of the Holy Spirit, was officially consecrated as a Bishop in the Lord’s Church by Bishop Sherman L. Young, Sr. and the Council of Harvest International Alliance of Ministries.
Under the leadership and teaching of Bishop Billy B. Avery, Emmanuel Life and Worship Center continues to worship, serve, grow, and share the love of Christ with our community.
We honor those who helped lay the foundation of this ministry, celebrate all that God is doing today, and look forward with faith and expectation to what He will do in the years ahead.
Our story is still being written, and through it all, God is with us.
